2013 Indiana CASA Progress Report

Indiana continues to strengthen its network of programs and increase the number of volunteers serving child victims each year.  Even so, there remain thousands of children without a voice in the court cases of which they are the subject.  We are proud of our progress, and at the same time more committed than ever to accelerating it.  Here are facts from our 2013 Indiana CASA Progress Report:

  • 3,450 GAL/CASA volunteers advocated for 16,374 children involved in abuse/neglect cases in Indiana’s courts in 78 of our 92 counties.

  • These volunteers contributed 431,451 hours of their time to advocate for abused and neglected children and made 220,408 contacts with these children.

  • Volunteers donated an estimated $21,572,550 in services by giving of their time and themselves advocating for our most vulnerable children.

  • 917 new volunteers were trained in 2013; however, there are still 2,987 children waiting for a volunteer who will speak up on their behalf.
