2015 Indiana CASA Progress Report

Indiana continues to strengthen its network of programs and increase the number of volunteers serving child victims each year.  Even so, there remain thousands of children without a voice in the court cases of which they are the subject.  We are proud of our progress, and at the same time more committed than ever to accelerating it.  Here are facts from our 2015 Indiana CASA Progress Report:

  • 3,470 GAL/CASA volunteers advocated for 23,524 children involved in abuse/neglect cases in Indiana’s courts in 77 of our 92 counties.

  • These volunteers contributed 338,383 hours of their time to advocate for abused and neglected children and made 147,239 contacts with these children.

  • Volunteers donated an estimated $24 million in services by giving of their time and themselves advocating for our most vulnerable children.

  • 1,002 new volunteers were trained in 2015; however, at the end of  2015 there were still 5,105 children still waiting for a volunteer who will speak up on their behalf.
